When the London Fire Brigade decided to relocate from a number of premises on London’s Albert Embankment to a bigger and more modern location in Southwark in 2007, the project represented a major challenge for the procurement & facilities teams as it involved relocating and accommodating 850 office based personnel with a wide variety of job roles and different requirements.

The tender that the Brigade issued called for a modern, cost effective & flexible range of furniture with the ability to be set at various heights and handle significant amounts of IT and communications cabling. Bridon (Furniture at Work) Limited put together a detailed and comprehensive proposal to meet the Brigade’s requirements. Using Senator’s S21 Intrigue range of systems desking and in the face of stiff competition from many leading manufacturers Bridon was successful in securing the order to install 850 workstations plus meeting room furniture, canteen furniture and soft furnishings.

Meeting rooms and conference areas use Harley Axis folding tables and Trillipse stacking chairs were used to provide areas that could easily & quickly be transformed to meet the Brigade’s ever changing needs.

In the canteen and break out areas a stylish selection of Allermuir cafe furniture and soft furnishings including Kirkos, Lola, Conic & Jo Jo were installed whilst Davison Highley Rolo sofas in “Fire Brigade Red” were installed as a finishing touch in the impressive atrium/reception.
